Tugi's Back!

Snakes in the Mail

June 18, 2007 (Sydney, Australia) --Australian officials have discovered more than a dozen snakes and lizards stuffed inside garden gnomes and similar pottery figures during a recent international mail check, customs officials said Tuesday.

Tugi had nothing to do with this, but he has contacted his attorney.

Tugi's Tale

Once upon a time... Tugi, named for our Institute, guided patrons throughout the library. However, after an unfortunate accident in the copy room, he took up life in the stacks. In a scene rarely captured on camera, Tugi helps a patron locate a missing journal issue.

New journal name for TUGI

We are proud to announce the inaugural issue of the Journal of the Totally Unofficial Gnome Institute (J TUGI) in April 2006. Because of many documented sightings in the library, we anticipate that J TUGI will have a high impact factor.

Please note that our previous journal, The Totally Unofficial Gnome Institute's Bulletin (TUGI Bull), published from February 2006 to March 2006, will continue to be available in the Institute's archives.

Welcome!

Welcome to TUGI, the Totally Unofficial Gnome Institute! Our founders had vision (with glasses, almost 20/20) and they saw that the gnome needed a home. Our blog tells the tale of a gnome and some medical librarians who hope to inform, educate, serve, and sometimes entertain their patrons.
